Devotion in Motion: Weekday Warrior begins with Earth & Fire

As we step into May, I invite you to breathe into this affirmation—a quiet honoring of the systems and structures that have shaped us, while opening the door to frameworks that feel more aligned, more true, more alive.
I’m here, as always, to share what’s been on my heart and mind—reflections, elemental themes, and inspirations for the week ahead.

There’s a particular kind of hope that returns when the sun lingers a little longer, when the wind carries messages of change, and when we remember we are co-creators in this dance of transformation. That hope is prana—the animating life force—moving through us, around us, and into our choices.
This Kapha-rooted Taurus season reminds us: even amidst the bustle, there is beauty. Nature teaches in subtle ways—grass beneath us, wind through leaves, the dance of breath in the body. Recently, an unexpected pause returned me to that wisdom. I’d overbooked myself, only to be gifted a moment of stillness. A reminder: rushing is a kind of violence.
Devotion, in this season is loyalty meeting accountability, with commitment to what we care for, reliable and with integrity- it invites us to slow down and realign. To what are you devoting your precious time and energy? What is deserving of your most vital life force?
Kapha steadiness meets the rajas of responsibility—sometimes overwhelming, sometimes necessary. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver and Gallbladder meridians support us to plan, decide, and detoxify. When imbalanced, we may feel frustration, fatigue, or resistance. But by supporting these meridians—and noticing tamas when it clouds our path—we can soften, metabolize, and move forward with integrity. A valuable focus for our more yin oriented practices and how we nourish off the mat.
I invite us to stay devoted and bring forward our Warriors Within—not through striving, but through a quiet returning to what gives shape and spark to your authentic self. The small moments. The in-betweens. The steps and decisions of aliveness from to the fire that nourishes the heart of our becoming.

May we continue to channel that aliveness—from the radiant sun, from the steadiness of the Earth, from prana that dances between the leaves- from the sacred elements that hold us—and allow it to infuse our actions. How we breathe. How we rise. How we devote within and out. How we meet the world and how we shape our lives.

As the season and my schedule shift, I’m now working on an urban farm Mondays–Thursdays. Morning classes will return in the fall.
