The Waters Within: Receptive & Radiant

The Waters Within: Receptive & Radiant

“Let each day be what it needs to be.”Morgan Harper Nichols

Dear ones,
Welcome back. I hope this reading finds you moving gently through summer, savoring both the warmth and the stillness it offers. Always a chance to acknowledge the ebbs and flows, the frustrations and the tenderness.

If your experience has been anything like mine—full, busy, alive—then you too may be feeling the peak of summer’s light as the sun crosses our northern sky. With the Solstice just behind us and Cancer season arriving, this becomes our invitation: to pause, breathe more fully, allow for the waters within to be seen and find the pace that honors both the vitality and the rest we need.

Let this be your anchor for the week as it is mine.

A Centering Practice
Please enjoy this meditative track for quieting the senses and moving inward as you settle into this read:
🎵 Track Highlight: Alana Fairchild – A soft place to land for the nervous system

Wherever you are-whatever weather within-give yourself permission to exhale.
Begin by noticing the support beneath your sitting bones, your feet where they touch the ground.
Feel into your nervous system, your energy (prana body), without judgment. The gunas within. Let the breath guide your attention toward what feels alive or dull, steady or stirred.

Gently roll your shoulders back.
Sit taller in your spine, relaxed in your seat.
Offer one hand to your heart.
And take in 10 intentional rounds of breath to bring you back home.
Each inhale lifts your vitality, each exhale softens the density in the mind, body, and spirit.
Close your eyes if it feels right. No rush.
Let this be a moment to come home.

So Hum. So Hum. That I am.
I am receptive. I am radiant. I am here.

This Season’s Invitation
This season holds a unique beauty. There is a serenity, a sensitivity, and a sweetness that arises when we soften.

The fire of Solstice meets the waters of Cancer—reminding us that tenderness is not weakness; it’s wisdom. As we shift from Gemini’s curiosity into Cancer’s emotional depth, we’re invited to embrace the full spectrum of feeling.

Teachings from Cancer Season

  • Ruled by the moon and the element of water, Cancer connects to Svadhisthana, the second chakra—our center of emotion, creativity, and flow.
  • Cancer teaches us to care deeply, feel fully, return home to ourselves, and lead with love—not armor.
  • The crab, its symbol, carries its home on its back. Its soft interior is protected, but not closed. This is the invitation: to build safety within so we may meet the world with heart.

I allow my waters to flow. Through that flow, my vitality shines.

Let the waters of your heart rise gently this week. Alongside summer’s vibrancy, let the moonlight and dark of night remind you to rest for receptivity.

Explorations off the Mat
Practicing Through the Senses

Receptivity is the opposite of resistance. Let your body guide you in small but powerful ways:

  • Kind eyes – soften your gaze
  • Light ears – listen for both sound and the quiet between
  • Thoughtful taste – savor nourishment, one bite at a time
  • Gentle touch – warming embrace, a self-massage or mindfulness of your skin against fabric, air, earth
  • Curious scents – inhale the moment

Witnessing Sun & Moon
“Being still and relaxed is the moon. Being awake and curious is the sun.”
Rolf Gates

In exploration, curiosity- can you find the sun and the moon in all that you do this week?

Summer asks us to gather energy and receive. Just as trees turn sunlight into sugar to nourish their roots, we too transform radiance into resilience through rest, reflection, and receiving.

Blessing for the Path
“May the sun bring you new energy by day.
May the moon softly restore you by night.
May the rain wash away your worries.
May the breeze blow new strength into your being.
May you walk gently through the world and know its beauty—all the days of your life.”
Apache Blessing

This Week’s Mantra:
With deep listening, I nurture my spirit.
Within the moon’s receptive presence, I allow myself to receive.
Within the sun’s warm radiance, I allow myself to shine.
I am receptive. I am radiant. I am here.

With gratitude to my teachers, the poets and inspired peers, to nature and the breath.
May you pour into your own cup this week, so that what you share with others flows from fullness. Allowing your waters to flow so that your vitality shines.

New Moon Blessings. Summer Blessings.
