Creating Room | New Moon Rest & Renewal for the jewel within

Creating Room | New Moon Rest & Renewal for the jewel within
“We think we need more answers, but what we really need is more room. Room to not know. Room to change our minds. Room to be surprised by joy again. Certainty is tidy, but it leaves no space for wonder.” The Tiny Joy Project

Hello dear yogis,

Another autumnal week, new moon blessings in Libra welcome us. The winds of the season keep carrying us forward, and I’m feeling it. The busy-ness of a full schedule, the winds of the mind, and also the shifts. The beauty of leaves shedding, the quiet that follows. I feel lucky to be surrounded by so much nature in the PNW landscape that keeps reminding me how beautiful letting go can be.

Ground and Connect

However this finds you today, I hope you give yourself a small pause — for your breath, your body, and all your parts. Note always offerings, photos of inspiration and resources further below. Take what serves, leave the rest.

Embrace this moment to ground and connect. Feel your feet or your seat on support. Lift gently through your spine, soften your shoulders, intuitive movement into neck. Let your inhale rise from the tailbone, traveling up the length of your spine, and release with a steady exhale. A few simple rounds of your intentional breath.

Atha Yoga Nusasanam. Now the yoga begins.

For anytime you are here — feeling your mind, your body, your breath — you are practicing yoga.

Renewal, Rhythms, Restoration

This week feels like one of necessary restoration for me — a little space to rest, reset, and let the new moon work its quiet magic. I’m noticing how much my nervous system needs the simple routines: steady meals, walks with my dog, time outside, light, laughter, and time for awe and play as we near All Hallows’ Eve.

Our practices this week will follow that rhythm — releasing, composting, and cleansing to make more room for what’s next. Expect slow movement, lymphatic support, and breathwork to move what’s been held. At Heart Spring Health, our Slow Flow and Ground & Release classes will center around slow, steady movement with focus on the lymph and myofascial systems — clearing residue and cultivating clarity. All practices to invite your intuitive spirit to shine through in relationship with self, and in expression to others.

“I hope that letting go does not make you feel weak, but brave, hopeful, and free.” — Morgan Harper Nichols

October always feels like a teacher of contrasts — gold on the forest floor, long shadows, harvest and intuition intertwined. The invitation, again and again, to send our roots down while trusting the light will return. A return to the flame within.

Om Mani Padme Hum

Om Mani Padme Hum- is for compassion & wisdom both for yourself and in the way you want to share it with others.

  • Om – transforming body, speech, and mind into clarity
  • Mani – the “jewel,” symbol of compassion and love
  • Padme – the “lotus,” representing unfolding wisdom
  • Hum – uniting wisdom and method into one integrated path

Bring this chant into your practice as an anchor — a reminder that you are both the lotus and the jewel, steady even in times of uncertainty.

“October is for those who take darkness as their guide, trusting all is well and their heart will light the way.” - Ali Bolton

Let's continue to channel our light. To tend the winds and stay in inspired. Join me, whether online for a midweek pause, or an upcoming Halloween inspired Friday Flow- or in person at Humberside Farm. Many ways to find your rhythm, to connect, ground, and bring heart to what matters most.

Here’s to creating more room — for rest, for receiving, and for being wholehearted toward the joys and the depths within light and shadow.

In radiance & rest, warmth & renewal, and with love & light.

"It is okay if it takes time to find your place in what keeps changing. Like the sky at the edge of evening, you have been learning how to carry memory of the sun's fire through the dark, while also allowing morning to arrive on its own time." -Morgan Harper Nichols
