Engaging the Luminous Moments - Newsletter into December
“Think not of the amount to be accomplished, the difficulties to overcome, or the end to be attained, but set earnestly at the little task at your elbow, letting that be sufficient for the day.”
Sir William Osler (1849–1919)

Good evening everyone. As this full Tuesday comes to a close, I’m feeling the unmistakable winds of Vata season—movement, busyness, shifting schedules, brisk mornings, full evenings, and the soft hum of holiday bustle drawing near. And yet, beneath all of that movement, there is a quiet call to slow down, warm the body, and return to what is steady and life-giving.

These past days, I’ve been leaning into the practice of Brahmacharya, especially when the world feels unsteady. A reminder to tend to my energy wisely, gently, and with devotion.

Brahma | the divine, the essential truth
Charya | to move, engage, connect

A practice of aligning with what is sacred and allowing my energy to support what truly matters.

This track has supported me in landing in peace and resonance—Shanti—and in returning to my body when things feel chaotic. It’s been a grounding companion in my early mornings, offering a space to breathe, soften, and come home to my center:

In many conversations recently, I’ve sensed a similar thread:
Heightened stress. Tenderness. Generosity. People doing their best to show up with heart while also just trying to get through the day. It is the work of living, the work of loving, and sometimes the work of simply making space for one breath at a time.

I’ve also been exploring Julia Samuel's work on the relationship between grief, love, longing, and loss—especially the way living losses quietly accumulate over time. There is something powerful about acknowledging pain as an agent of change, one that moves us toward truth, compassion, and deeper connection. More to share here, alongside wintering wellness as space allows.

As we approach the Scorpio new moon, this inner exploration feels right in rhythm. This season invites warmth, slowness, breath, and grounding practices that support Vata dosha, nourish the chest and lungs, and bring focus to the heart. Expect these in our practices together.

A few takeaways. When a small, beneficial moment arises in your day, let it land.
Take 10–20 breaths with it. Consider bringing a mantra with a balancing breath when overwhelm or fatigue cloud your path.

Breathing in: New Life
Breathing out: More Space

May you find your teachings in Silence. In Space. May you surrender to shadow, what is sacred. May you find respite in the steady presence that is your loving whole heart. Honest. Unapologetic. Nourished. May your pauses create pockets of spirit- uncovered in the small moments.

while also being kind to your wandering heart.
As you continue to grow, seek peace, and try new things, may you remember all the things you already do.”

Morgan Harper Nichols
