Harmony, Vitality, Potency, and Heart. Wintering into 2026.
Solstice blessings & mindful Monday to you, dear friends,
Shorter write today, I've been slowing into this track from the Coming Home Playlist.
I’ll be sharing with a potent but simplified schedule over the next two weeks, taking some much needed space to be with family and to winter a bit after a full season of offerings. In our seasonal teachings, this is a time to slow. And alongside the bustle if what you need is space away- to tune in, to re-vitalize your flame, and to return more fully to you and yours—please come practice with me.
Join me tomorrow — three chances to practice (Tuesday morning at Heart Spring Health, Sellwood):
• 7:00 AM · Strength & Flow
• 8:15 AM · Somatic Strength & Slow Power
• 10:00 AM · Root & Rise
Looking ahead:
• Monday mornings @ Heart Spring- Root & Rise · 6:30 AM
• Tuesday morning — the same three classes above
• No classes Dec 24, 25, or Jan 1
• New Year’s Eve: Online Community Circle — centering, journaling & reflection (45 min)- 11am PT
• Friday Flow online returns Jan 2 to rejuvenate into the new year
• No Humberside Farm classes the next two Saturdays
• January schedules are open ✨
I’ll be enjoying festivities, resting, and welcoming all the senses into the season— with reverence as this can be a trying time, a mixed time for many. Yoga will be vital to support exactly that: vitality. A resetting. Clearing residue. Inviting deeper engagement that reveals harmony.
One takeaway I received during Solstice practice from a dear teacher this weekend: Harmony. Harmony over symmetry— harmony over balance. Another beloved teacher reflected that in seeking balance, we can sometimes quietly imply perfection. Nature reminds us otherwise—we are not symmetrical, and we are not meant to be. Harmony invites listening, adjusting, and truth (satya). Especially as our bodies age, our timelines evolve, our practices and ways of being and interacting also evolve.
When we pause and listen inward, layers (or koshas) of experience begin to unfold to our attunement—the physical, the energetic or prana body, the mental and emotional body. From here, simple truth and intuitive knowing can emerge, and practice becomes a place of honest listening—especially once the bustle quiets. Three deep breaths may be all you need. This is the potency of peace, the suchness, available when we soften effort and allow ourselves to listen.
Simple yoga.
Body, breath, awareness, presence, homecoming.
Our fire as a steady ember within—shining gently in this season of shadow.
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu.
May all beings—including ourselves—be happy, healthy, and at peace.
May we stay connected. May we know our shine.
In radiance & rest,
with love & light,
Maya
